It's time for the last Teaser Tuesday from All us Geeks (http://www.allusgeeks.com/). This week's card, as you can see, is Devil's Trident. Wow, what a card!
This card is great. It costs 2 to put in a Warlock's spellbook, being a level 1 of both the Dark and Fire schools. It has a range of 0-1, which you might think isn't very good, but we'll see why it isn't further in a moment. It costs 7 mana, so it's not that expensive to cast and it can only target Creatures. This is the first attack spell that couldn't target Conjurations. Why? We'll see why in a moment as well.
On to the good stuff, that attack stats. First of all, it's a Fire attack (duh). It rolls 4 dice, which you still might think isn't that impressive. But MAN look at that effect roll! 3-5= Cripple! 6-8= Cripple & Burn! 9+ = Burn! GEEZ! That's awesome!! You have an 83.3% chance of inflicting some kind of status effect! AND IT HAS A PIERCING OF 2 TO TOP IT OFF! (I think that's why it can't attack conjurations. And the range is 0-1 because it can inflict Cripple, which restrains the creature, and then they have to make a d12 roll before they can move.)
WHAT DO I THINK?
Well, if you couldn't tell by my enthusiasm, I think this is a great attack spell. This is great in two areas. Damage because of the piercing and the other area is the effect roll. I will certainly be packing a few of these in my Warlock spellbook, and probably in some other books as well (Necro, Wizard).
Hope you all enjoyed this spoiler! Tell me what you think, and I'll see you in the arena!
