Hello again everybody, and welcome back! We've got another spoiler today, the Harshforge plate!
For those of you who don't know the backstory behind the Harshforge metal, it is basically this super valuable metal that has been mined in the depths in the mountains of the Anvil Throne. What makes this metal so special is that it has innate anti-magical attributes. Meaning that magic is less effective against it. The Dwarves of these mountains have been mining it and crafting it into great items which all resist magic, making them very sought after. This has led to the Arraxian Crown noticing this material and wanting it for themselves. The Lord of Fire himself has ordered his minions to try to find a way to steal this technology, which is why this set is Warlord vs Warlock.
On to the spoiler! This is the first piece of armor for this set and it's a good one. It's war Mage only, meaning that currently only the Warlords can use it, and it gives the typical +2 armor for the cost of 8 mana. But the other text on this card is what makes it so unique. When you're wearing this, every time your opponent tries to target you with an enchantment or conjuration, they have to pay an additional 2 mana on top of what they normally pay. That is awesome! If your opponent tries to teleport you, it costs them more. They try to curse you, it costs them more. They try to dissolve any of your equipment, it costs them more! Combining this with the Anvil Throne's Runesmithing ability lets you make one heck of an armor piece!
I will definitely be using this with any Warlord spellbooks I make, along with any other War Mages that come out *cough* Paladin *cough* ;)
Let me know what you think of this card in the comments and I hope to see you in the arena!
